Me. I did.
LOOK OUT WORLD, HERE I COME!

“Once a little boy sent me a charming card with a little drawing on it. I loved it. I answer all my children’s letters — sometimes very hastily — but this one I lingered over. I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote, “Dear Jim: I loved your card.” Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, “Jim loved your card so much he ate it.” That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything. He saw it, he loved it, he ate it.” ― Maurice Sendak
You will continue to live on forever in our imaginations. RIP Maurice Sendak
So I had my portfolio review today at the Art Director’s Club and I think it went well. Maybe? Ok? Sorta? Ahhh well, I got some pretty good reviews and a few business cards, so I guess we’ll see how things go!
In other news, I graduate on thursday and have to move out by friday. FFFFFFFFF. I’M OK. EXCUSE ME WHILE I JUST
I mean
I’ll be fine. I just gotta-

My haul from MoCCA this weekend! I wanted to walk away with more little comics like last year but … I just .. Couldn’t help myself. Kagan McLeod was there and I was planning on buying Infinite Kung Fu anyway but this way I got it signed and ahdgeuygfjrk and I got to meet the totally awesome Magnolia of Monster Pulse and squee about Smut Peddler with Jess Fink and picked up this cute little screen printed comic called Truce by Alden Viguilla (http://aldenviguilla.blogspot.com/). I also had great conversations with Meredith Gran and Matthew Forsythe :3
I also met the very sweet and awesomely talented Michael Manomivibul (mikemanoart.com) who gave me two prints because I couldn’t decide which 1 I liked best (loved em all~).
So, overall, I am satisfied and had super awesome fun times with Jen (http://jchanart.tumblr.com/) and Becki (http://amethystdahlia.tumblr.com/). I also lovingly rubbed my butt all over my dear lovely Alex’s table (http://buttcap.tumblr.com/). I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THAT~
I usually take process photos of my work, but never end up doing anything with them and eventually they usually end up deleted. I decided to give making a little gif a try, just for fun. Maybe I’ll make more of em sometime.
I like taking process pictures because it makes me feel pretty good when I’m starting to feel burnt out on a project or feel like I’m getting nowhere because each step reminds me I’m taking a step forward, even when a project “fails”. Because it then reminds me that I made some discoveries and learned something new.
Oh, and in case anyone was interested, all the Things in My Hair illustrations were inked by hand with a nib and bamboo pen, then coloured digitally with textures I made myself :3
The photos were taken with my iPhone so sorry about the quality, haha
Hey remember that project I was doing ages ago, Things in My Hair? Well, I’ve redone those images I posted and did more! I also got a great review from Lily Malcolm, AD for Dial Books today, and could maybe sorta potentially continue this project after school. Awesome? Yes, yes it could be.
But for now, school is (almost) over and here is the project as it is- minus about 3 small spots I didn’t find worth showing and sketches for one piece that didn’t make it in time (not to mention countless trashed thumbs and sketches).
I loved working on this project and seeing it grow, and hopefully you enjoy it too :) Now onward to bright new things!
The Smut Peddler Pre-Order Project is now live!
What is Smut Peddler?
In 2003 a black-and-white, anthology minicomic called Smut Peddler was released by Saucy Goose Press. It contained “sex-positive, female-friendly erotic comics from the best and the brightest in the independent small press publishing world,” and participants included Carla Speed McNeil (Finder), Layla Lawlor (Raven’s Children) Sean Bieri (Jape), and Tom Beland (True Story, Swear to God). It was a fantastic series of comics, with three issues published before its extended hiatus. This project has pulled Smut Peddler out of the mothballs and once again gifted the world with quality filth, but in the format of a square-bound, standard-sized, black-and-white book. The new Smut Peddler contains over 350 PAGES of lady-driven dirty comics.
This pre-order event will not only put excellent comics in your hands, it will also determine the bonuses of SP’s authors. They’ve already been paid for their contributions, but the more money this Kickstarter makes, the more money they get.

If any of you are interested, you should definitely get on this and help support all the wonderful artists who put a lot of hard work into making this book. It’s going to be totally awesome~
One of the artists I met who is super talented, even though she doesn’t think so. She likes to paint and focus on making fantasy look real.
Jenna Kass (Jen-na K-ass)
Noun; A talented, super nice fantasy artist who specializes in oil paintings and professing her deep-set love of SVA to prospective freshman. Prone to bouts of flailing and giggles when excited and not sleeping when working too hard. Also needs to accept the fact that she’s bloody amazing.
She’s also the sexiest dang thing I have ever had the pleasure of being near.
